What is endogenous depression?

Endogenous depression is a kind of innate depression that seems to be associated with ones genetic makeup. This kind of depression usually does not have a trigger associated with it. Most people with endogenous depression have a family history of depression. This has led scientists to hypothesize that this condition is inherited. People with endogenous depression show symptoms like moodiness, loss of interest in daily activities, disturbed sleep patterns, reduced appetite. They feel tired, listless and sad. People who are well versed in relaxation techniques like exercise, meditation, yoga are better equipped to deal with endogenous depression.
