Symptoms of Psychotic depression include:
- Anxiety is one of the most common symptoms seen in depression. And in patient suffering from psychotic depression, the patient experiences extreme anxiety in everything they do and they also become nervous about general things.
- The person with psychotic depression gets restless or disturbed for the small things.
- Laziness is another symptom which is very common among psychotic depressive patients. They will become very lazy in doing even their daily activities. They may even avoid bathing brushing, changing their clothes and other normal basic activities. They even lose interest in all their work which leads to many problems in future
- They avoid interactions with close relations
- The patients suffering from psychotic depression will complain that they are seeing some unreal things. Hearing some voices is another delirium seen in psychotic depressive patients. There are chances of hallucinations too.
- Insomnia is another common symptom notice in this mental disorder.
- The patient also suffers from sleep disorder. They may spend many nights without sleep or not sleeping for a long time which leads to many psychotic beliefs.
- Constipation, hypochondriasis and Intellectual impairment are the other common symptoms of psychotic depression.
