Mood Swings and Depression

Mood swings basically refers to the condition of excessive and frequent alterations in mood. In this condition, the person may feel utterly elated and delightful at one moment, on the very next, he may be overwhelmed with a feeling of dejection. The bouts of this condition not only makes the person irritated but also those related to him. Mood swings are commonly observed among people suffering from a manic depressive state of mind. People reeling with this disorder observe instant shifts in their mood, thinking, behavior and energy levels. These alterations, in such people are not a matter of few hours, as they may persist for several days unless a proper treatment is given. In severe depression, the mood swings do not appear ordinary at all. In fact, according to specialists, these fluctuations are so grave that they may interfere with the person’s normal capacity to function and perform his daily chores.

Under the reel of mood swings, the person may undertake haste decisions or indulge into swift activities that may be worth repenting later. Like for example, a person suffering from a hypersensitive and anxious state of mind may quit a job or spend humungous from his credit card.
