Foods That Are Good for Depression

One can eat fatty acid rich fishes like herring fish or salmon, sugar beets, walnuts or beet molasses to prevent depression. These foods contain higher amount of omega 3 fatty acid and are highly effective for the treatment of depression. Omega 3 fatty acid is capable of in preventing depression. Studies have revealed that, those people who consume plenty of fish rich in omega3 fatty acid have less depression rates. Intake of salmon fish at least once a week can heal the depression. Other food products rich in this fatty acid are curd, anchovies, halibut, scallops, sardines, walnuts, soybeans, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, tofu products, oregano, canola oil, oatmeal and  mustard seeds. Uridine can also reduce the symptoms of depression. Sugar beets and molasses contain Uridine. Deficiency of vitamin B12, magnesium and Vitamin C can also make you vulnerable towards depression. Hence, you need to take food products rich in these vitamins and mineral. Food products rich in Vitamin B12 are meat, cheese and milk. You can depend upon several nuts and spinach to fulfill your body’s magnesium requirement. Avoiding narcotics, caffeine and alcohol can also help in preventing depression.
