Carbolith is a medication that is used for treatment with patients that have bipolar disorder, depression, and other mental conditions. The doctor will need to establish how much the patient is using. Just the slightest change of this medication can cause problems with the patient.
Carbolith comes in the form of an oral capsual. It is available in a few strengths being 150, 300, and 600 mg strengths. Patients can take Carbolith with or without food. If patients have a weak stomach it is recommended that they take Carbolith with food. Patients should take Carbolith with a full glass of water. When a patient skips a dose of Carbolith they should take it as soon as possible. If the patient is close to the next dose then they should wait until the next dose.
Patients who might be pregnant, or about to become pregnant should talk with their doctor before taking Carbolith. If a patient is breast-feeding they need to let the doctor know before they begin treatment. If a patient is allergic to any kind of dye, medication, or food product they should let the doctor know before they begin taking Carbolith.
