Bipolar Disorder: How It Affects Normal Life?

Depression is one of the telltale symptoms of bipolar disorder. Mood swings, mood disorders and sometimes much heightened levels of emotion can make a person behave in an erratic manner.

Bipolar disorder is a manic depressive illness of the mind or manic depression state that includes characteristics signs of depression mania and elation. The mood swings are usually dramatic in nature, but they can be gradual or slow too. The interval between the normal mood to the high or manic state and low or depressive state is not as simple as it apparently seems to be. The patient suffering from bipolar disorder goes through these concurrent cycles of manic and depressive states of mind that can even result in an impaired functioning.
Both the phases of bipolar disorder are extremely deleterious. Both mania and depression can affect the judgment, thinking, social behavior and physical aspects of the patient. Patients in either o these states become more susceptible to self destruction and often turn suicidal as well.

Even though bipolar disorder is an aggravating condition when left untreated, people who receive timely treatment tend to achieve stabilized moods and reduced symptoms in due course. Treatment comprises of proper medications ad therapies.
